The Cabell Midland boys and girls track and field teams both took first place on Saturday at the Carlos Akers and Doc Hale Memorial meet, hosted by CMHS.
The Scarlet Knights posted a 104 to win the boys team competition, while Woodrow Wilson was second (75.5) and Parkersburg South claimed third (66.5). Wahama scored 17 points and was 10th of the 17 teams that scored.
The White Falcons’ 4x100m relay team of Brady Bumgarner, Nolan Pierce, Wesley Jones and Austin Juelfs claimed third with a time of 46.47, while the 4x200m relay team of Bumgarner, Pierce, Juelfs and Jacob Lloyd was sixth with a time of 1:41.11.
With a time of 23.76, Jones was third in the 200m dash, while Pierce claimed fourth in the high jump (5-06).
The Lady Scarlet Knights scored 114 to take first in the girls team competition, while Winfield was second (90) and Parkersburg was third (80.5). Wahama scored four points and was 15th, of the 15 teams that scored.
WHS sophomore Elizabeth Mullins was fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 13.61, while fellow Lady Falcons sophomore Kaleigh Stewart was sixth in both the 100m dash (13.74) and the 200m dash (28.8).
