BUFFALO, W.Va. — Some nights you just hope to forget.
The Hannan boys basketball team opened the season with a 86-42 loss to Buffalo, Tuesday night in Putnam County.
The Wildcats (0-1) were led on the scoreboard by junior Corey Hudnall with 16 points and senior Isaiah Burgess with 10. Dalton Coleman, a freshman, posted five points, while Ryan Gerlach added four. Chase Nelson and Matthew Qualls scored three points apiece for the guests, while Cole Poore rounded out the Hannan scoring with one point.
Buffalo — which held a 31-point halftime advantage — was led by Devin Rich and Tyler Morlachetta with 16 points apiece, followed by Austin Starcher with 12.
Last season, the Bison swept HHS in all three meetings and knocked the Wildcats out of the postseason. Hannan will look for revenge on January 26, when Buffalo visits Ashton.
HHS returns to action on Friday when the Wildcats host Covenant Christian.
