
Third-year Eastern volleyball coach Katie Williams, middle wearing black, led the Lady Eagles back to the regional tournament for the first time since 2012 this past fall. Williams was named the D-4 Coach of the Year by the District 13 Coaches Association for the 2015 campaign.

A total of 17 people from the Ohio Valley Publishing area were named to the All-District 13 volleyball teams for the 2015 season, as voted on by the coaches within the District 13 boundaries.
Gallia Academy, Eastern, River Valley and Southern led the locals with four selections apiece in their respective divisions, while Meigs came away with one choice. South Gallia was the only program from Gallia or Meigs counties to not have a representative on the lists.
Starting in Division IV, Eastern’s Katie Williams was named the coach of the year after helping guide the Lady Eagles to their ninth regional appearance in program history. EHS senior Kelsey Johnson was a first team selection in D-4, while sophomore Katlyn Barber and junior Annalisa Boano were both named to the second team.
Senior Jansen Wolfe was a first team selection in D-4 for the Lady Tornadoes, while senior Madison Maynard came away with second team honors. Junior Marley Maynard and senior Ali Deem were both honorable mention choices for SHS.
Waterford senior Dani Drayer was named the D-4 player of the year and the Coaches Achievement Award went to John Young of Federal Hocking.
Sophomore Grace Martin and junior Jenna Meadows were both first team selections in Division II for the Blue Angels, while junior Carly Shriver was chosen to the second team. Freshman Ashton Webb was also an honorable mention choice in D-2.
Junior Devyn Oliver was the lone choice for the Lady Marauders after earning an honorable mention selection in D-2.
Athens senior Rachel Gilkey was the D-2 player of the year, while AHS coach Natalie Bobo was the coach of the year. The D-2 Coaches Achievement Awards went to Jay Martin of Jackson and Ron Kidder of Marietta.
The Lady Raiders had one second team honoree in Division III with senior Courtney Smith, while senior Jacey Walter, junior Angel Toler and senior Alex Truance each garnered honorable mention accolades in D-3.
Alexander’s Maddie Kish was the D-3 player of the year, while AHS coach Megan Edwards was the coach of the year. The D-3 Coaches Achievement Award went to Rebecca Cremeans of Chesapeake.
