MASON, W.Va. — Keeping a good thing going.
The South Gallia volleyball team picked up its fourth consecutive match victory while also claiming a season sweep of host Wahama during a 25-19, 25-7, 25-11 decision Tuesday night in a Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division contest in Mason County.
The visiting Lady Rebels (11-10, 6-9 TVC Hocking) withstood an early charge by the Lady Falcons (4-13, 3-12), but SGHS managed to hold on for a six-point win in the opener. From there, the guests simply dominated WHS en route to a pair of sizable double-digit wins.
The Lady Rebels also claimed a season sweep after posting a 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 victory in Mercerville back on September 22.
Jayla Wolford led SGHS with 14 service points and six aces, followed by Kirstin Burnette with 12 points and Mariah Hineman with 11 points. Caitlyn VanScoy was next with seven points, while Courtney Haner and Taylor Burnette respectively added four points and one point.
Haner led the net attack with six kills, followed by Hineman with five kills and VanScoy with four kills. Wolford and Erin Evans also had two kills each for the victors. Evans led the guests with nine assists, while both Burnettes came away with five digs each.
