This was Eastern’s first district tournament appearance since 2004 and first appearance in a district tournament as a team. Eastern coach Nick Dettwiller was pleased with his team making it to the tournament and he’s expecting better things in the 2016 campaign.
“It’s really neat that the group of kids I’ve come in with put the time and effort into it to get to this point,” Dettwiller said. Three years ago, when I took over the job, we had no wins. Three years later, we’re in the district tournament and, to have every one of these kids back again next year, that makes it really special and something to look forward to in the future.”
