COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Gallia Academy and Eastern track and field teams wrapped their respective seasons up at the 2015 OHSAA State Championships at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University. GAHS had three athletes compete on Saturday, while Eastern had two.

The Blue Angels, who have scored at least one point at the state meet dating back to 1997, kept the streak alive as sophomore Madi Oiler placed sixth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 45.38 seconds. Oiler, who had the 11th fasted qualifying time coming into the meet, improved her time by more than a second from regionals.

“This entire season I have been working for a 45,” said Oiler. “I’ve been working on getting my arms down, I’ve been working on carrying through these last few hurdles and I feel really good because I accomplished that today. There was a lot of pressure on me today but I did it and I’m happy.”
