MEIGS COUNTY — Two men are in police custody and another in the hospital after a shooting investigation led to a Meigs County marijuana arrest.

According to the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received information from a Wellston man who said his hand had been shot off by Tyler Meyers of Langsville late Sunday night. The man told officers that his hand was shot after he and Meyers got into a fight at another home in Langsville.

According to a report, when deputies arrived on scene early Monday morning they found Meyers and the other suspect, Taylor Johnston, of Vinton, loading marijuana into a box trailer. Both men were arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and cultivating marijuana. They were transported to the Middleport Police Department. After confirming that Meyers had shot the unidentified man’s hand, officers also charged Meyers with felonious assault.

More investigation into the home where the shooting occurred found an area set up for the growth of marijuana, and the residence was secured. Search warrants were obtained for both Langsville homes and more charges may be pending.
