MASON — A man who allegedly robbed the City National Bank in Mason on Friday afternoon is still at large.
According to Mason Police Chief Rich Gilkey, an unidentified man walked into the bank on Second Street around 3:15 p.m., and demanded the teller give him cash. There were no weapons which were seen by the teller, according to Gilkey.
The man then left with an unspecified amount of cash and fled in a white Chevy Cavalier with an unidentified female passenger in the vehicle.
Officers with the Mason Police Department arrived on scene immediately after receiving the call, with assistance from the Mason County Sheriff’s Department and West Virginia State Police. Gilkey said an agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation has also been assigned to the case and will be in Mason soon.
Officers have a photo of the man’s face which was not obscured or hidden when he walked into the bank. The photo of the suspect and the vehicle he fled in is attached to this article. Gilkey said anyone with any information can call 911, the Mason Police Department, the Mason County Sheriff’s Department or West Virginia State Police.
“We’ve got a face, we just don’t have a name, yet,” Gilkey said.
