Zuspan to participate in young leaders conference



LONG BOTTOM — Kyra Lynn Rockelle Zuspan, a 12-year old student at Eastern Elementary School, was nominated to represent her school and community at the Envision Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C. this summer.

The conference will be held July 23-28.

Zuspan will be in the seventh grade this fall at Eastern Local. She was nominated for the conference by one of her teachers who said that she had achieved academic excellence and that she possesses strong leadership potential.

She is a four year member of 4-H in Meigs County, where her favorite project is market goat. She is also a member of Model UN and plays basketball in the Hocking league. She loves to participate in community services and thinks serving her community is very important.

She is an avid law enforcement supporter and loves Meigs County Sheriff’s Office K9 Officer Bax.

She is the daughter of Tim and Brey Gheen of Long Bottom, Ohio, and Paul Zuspan of Hartford, West Virginia. She is the granddaughter of Barbara and the late Manuel Gheen, Rocky and the late Saybra Pearson, and Tommy and Kathy Edwards.

Outstanding middle school students from across the United States take part in the conference which provides a historical view of leadership and encourages young scholars to develop their own leadership skills and strategies for success in the 21st century.
