POMEROY — Pomeroy Gun Club trustees Jerry Bibbee, Bill Nease and Ken McFann presented a check for $1,500 to Meigs Archery coaches Dan Thomas and Mo Hjavandi. The donation is to assist Meigs Archery Teams with needed equipment and program support.
The funds provided by the Pomeroy Gun Club were received through a Wildlife Conservation Club Competitive Partnership Grant provided by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife. The purpose of this grant is to encourage participation in wildlife related recreation activities on a local level. Funding for the Conservation Club Partnership Grant Program is comprised of money from license/permit revenues and the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program. Grants received focus on education and informing youth in safe participation in wildlife related activities, developing long term mentorship programs in fishing, hunting, and shooting sports education.
Additionally, the Pomeroy Gun Club will be hosting three Youth Outdoor Day activities on Sept. 19, Oct.3 and Oct. 17. The Youth Outdoor Day activities will include 3D archery, range safety, BB gun inflatable range and trap shooting. Youth between the ages of 10-17 are invited. Food and beverages will be provided by the membership of the Pomeroy Gun Club.
Each days event will be held from noon until 4 p.m. at the Pomeroy Gun Club.
