PALESTINE, TEXAS — A funeral service for Larry Black, 62, of Palestine, Texas will be at 1 p.m., Friday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Butch Lockard officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.

Mr. Black died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan, 22, 1947 in Portland to George and Helen Lawson Black. Mr. Black was a truck driver and was employed with Wal-Mart for 15 years.

Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Black of Palestine; daughters, Jerri Myers and husband John of Tennessee Colony, Texas, Larra Noland and husband Rex of Palestine; sons, Jim Black and wife Jenny of Moody, Texas, Jason Black of Palestine; sisters, Joan Dailey of Portland, Diana Hysell of Reedsville and Cathy Black of Portland; brothers, Bob, Garry and Danny Black all of Portland; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and two best friends, Joe Collings and Merritt Shepherd.

Pallbearers will be Joe Collings, Tom McAlpine, Adam Poling, John Myers IV, Charles Myers and Merritt Shepherd.
