He was born on Oct. 26, 1937. Mr. Spangler worked for Rutland Bottle Gas.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Spangler; a daughter, Darlene Kay Spangler, a son, Martin L. Spangler; grandchildren, James E. Spangler, Dalton Ray Spangler; a brother, Doug Spangler; sisters, Ruth Grate and Maxine Williams, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents. sons, James L. Spangler and David Ray Spangler, and a sister, Wilda Blaney
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Rev. Dewey King officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
