POMEROY — Traffic accidents and a report of vandalism are just a few of the recent cases the Pomeroy Police Department is investigating, according to Police Chief Mark E. Proffitt.

Vicki Hanson of 311 Condor Street recently reported damage done to the glass door of her residence. The door was still locked and there was no sign of entry. There is a suspect in the case.

A vehicle driven by Charity Holstein, Middleport, allegedly pulled out of the Save-A-Lot parking lot on West Main Street and struck a vehicle driven by Roma I. Warmer, Middleport who was traveling east. There was damage done on the entire right side of Warmer’s vehicle and Holstein’s bumper fell off. Holstein’s vehicle was towed away by Searl’s Towing. Holstein was cited for failure to yield. There were no injuries reported. Patrolman Jon Kulchar is investigating.

A vehicle driven by James W. Ohlinger, Pomeroy, allegedly struck a parked vehicle on Mulberry Avenue owned by Breeana S. Thomas, Pomeroy. There were no injuries. Kulchar is also investigating.

A vehicle driven by Erick Sydenstricker, Pomeroy, allegedly pulled into the path of and struck a vehicle driven by Brian K. Fields, Hartford, W.Va. The accident occurred on West Main Street near Auto Zone. Donna Back, Hartford, W.Va., a passenger, complained of injuries and was transported by Meigs EMS to Pleasant Valley Hospital. Sydenstricker was cited for failure to yield.
