He was born April 21 1952, in Hartford, W.Va. son of the William Rizer and the late Wilma (Lavender) Rizer. He was a retired union carpenter and loved the outdoors and fishing on the river.
Besides his father, he is survived by his sons: Kenny Rizer, Jr., Racine, Michael Todd and Bethany Rizer, Shade, James “Spike” and Melessia Rizer, Portland stepdaughter, Heather Mora, Columbus; stepson, George Andrew Mora, Portland; grandchildren: Austin Cole Rizer, Parkersburg, W.Va., Abigail Leigh Rizer, Portland, Chloe Elizabeth Rizer, Portland, Michael Todd Brair Rizer, Parkersburg, and Katlyn Michelle Sue Ann Rizer, Shade; step grandchildren: Cameron Mora, Columbus, and Reese Cozart, Portland; a sister, Vicki Talley; and serveral aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Braden Michael Rizer; a brother, William Patrick Rizer, and grandparents, Clara Lavender and Zelma Hawley.
Service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with the Rev. Jan Lavender Officiating.
Burial will follow in Meigs Memory Gardens.
