MIDDLEPORT — The new memorial to students and teachers of Middleport is scheduled to be unveiled at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, in the lobby of the Middleport Village Hall on Pearl Street in Middleport.

The memorial features a bronze life-size sculpture created by Charles ‘Bob’ DeLay. DeLay was born and raised in Middleport and graduated from Middleport High School in 1957. The sculpture was donated by the artist and with funds donated by past students and teachers to create the memorial. A memorial plaque recognizes students and teachers who were honored and sponsored by donors.

The public is invited to this special unveiling where the artist, mayor and project coordinator, Linda Myers will speak. A small reception will follow.
