RUTLAND — A two vehicle accident near Rutland on New Year’s Eve resulted in two fatalities.
David Hubbard, 24, and his passenger, David Napper, 31, both of Middleport were killed when the Can Am side by side ATV they were riding and a 1999 Hyundai four door struck each other head-on.
The driver of the Hyundai, Michelle French, 29, of Middleport was uninjured. Her passenger, John Buzzard, 29, had minor injuries and was taken to Holzer Hospital by a relative according to a media release by the Gallia-Meigs Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 8:34 p.m. on Happy Hollow Road just off Ohio 124 near Rutland.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
