TUPPERS PLAINS — A unanimous vote by the Eastern Local Board of Education approved an appeal of the sanctions handed down from the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

After discussing the possible outcomes of an appeal with the approximately 75 people in attendance, the board made the motion to pursue the appeal through the courts with their legal representation.

The decision was met with applause from the crowd, several of whom had spoken out in support of the football team and the possible appeal.

More details concerning the decision by the board and the appeal, along with a statement from the OHSAA, will appear in the Friday edition of The Daily Sentinel.
