POMEROY — A world communion service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, for all Christians in the area who want to join together in Communion.

Pastor Brian Dunham of the Ministerial Association, announced the service where Christians gather together to remember Jesus’ death and the forgiveness of sins by accepting Him.

“We believe this is a great opportunity to declare to the world that ‘all of them may be one,’” said Dunham, referring to John 17:21.

Plans call for Christians to meet together at the Pomeroy amphitheater on the river. In the event of inclement weather the service will be moved to the St. Paul Lutheran Church at the corner of Sycamore and East Second Street in Pomeroy.

The service will include special music, congregational singing, preaching by Father Tom Fehr of Grace Episcopal Church, Pomeroy, and partaking of communion with the option of grape juice or wine.

The churches in Pomeroy will provide a light dinner following the service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
