RACINE — The Racine Southern class of 1962 celebrated their 50th class reunion over Memorial Day weekend.

On Friday night, the fun began with a sock hop at the Racine American Legion Hall. Leon Jordan spun rock songs from the 1950’s and 1960’s. He gave a brief history of each song and told which songs had been the most requested.

On Saturday afternoon, 25 of the classmates gathered to get reacquainted. A book compiled by Becky Toney Parsons was distributed. The book consisted of biographies and pictures of the last 50 years, memorial pages of those deceased and several military pages. Biographies of seven former teachers were also included. Group pictures were taken before class members left to attend the Alumni Dinner held at Southern High School.
