Meigs County man found dead in car

LEBANON TWP. — A Meigs County man was found dead in his car on Saturday afternoon in Lebanon Township.

The Gallia-Meigs Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that Jonathan Dailey, 32, of Portland was found dead in a car along Township Road 39 (Smith Ridge) in Meigs County.

The Highway Patrol responded to an incident of an unresponsive driver at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Meigs EMS was the first on scene and discovered that the driver had passed away.

The Pontiac Grand Am driven by Dailey was traveling southbound on Township Road 39, traveled off the left side of the road and came to a rest on an embankment. It is not known at this time what caused the death.

The investigation is still ongoing, with an autopsy to be performed. The Meigs County Coroner was also on scene.
