MERCERVILLE, Ohio — So much for gracious guests.
The Trimble volleyball team rolled to a 3-games-to-zero sweep of Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division host South Gallia, on Tuesday night in Gallia County.
South Gallia (2-14, 2-11) never led in the opening game, as Trimble claimed the first 11 points en route to a 25-13 victory.
The Lady Rebels led 1-0 in the second game, but the Lady Tomcats took the lead at 2-1 and never relinquished it. THS won the second game by a 25-12 final, moving ahead 2-0 in the match.
THS led wire-to-wire in the final game, capping off the 3-0 sweep with a 25-18 victory.
The Lady Rebel service attack was led by Taylor Burnette, who posted four points and one ace. Olivia Hornsby finished with three points and one ace for the Red and Gold, while Erin Evans, Rachal Colburn and Aaliyah Howell each posted two points, including one ace apiece by Evans and Colburn. Maddie Simpson, Hannah Shafer, Amaya Howell and Christine Griffith each had one service point in the setback.
Colburn led the hosts at the net with 10 kills and five blocks. Evans posted four kills, Griffifth added three kills and three blocks, while Burnette, Hornsby and Shafer each had one kill in the match. Burnette also finished with team-highs in assists and digs, with 10 and eight respectively.
Trimble was led by Taya Lackey with 20 service points, followed by Sydney Hardy with eight. Kaitlyn Spears and Alexa Shust both marked seven points, Macinsey Cooper added four, while Baylee Hardy contributed one point to the winning cause.
The Lady Tomcats also swept SGHS on September 13, in Glouster.
After hosting River Valley on Wednesday, South Gallia will resume league play on Thursday, when Wahama visits Gallia County.
