BIDWELL, Ohio — The River Valley girls basketball team had all 10 players reach the scoring column while snapping a two-game home losing skid Saturday with a 61-9 decision over Point Pleasant in a non-conference matchup in Gallia County.
The Lady Raiders (7-2) never trailed in the contest after storming out to a 16-2 advantage through eight minutes, then the hosts held the Lady Knights (0-4) scoreless in the second canto during an 11-0 run that gave RVHS a 27-2 halftime cushion.
PPHS produced its biggest output during the third stanza, but the Silver and Black still made a 19-4 surge while securing a 46-6 edge headed into the finale. The hosts ended regulation on a 15-3 run to wrap up the 52-point outcome.
RVHS had three players reach double figures, with Tianna Qualls and Leia Moore both leading the way with 12 points apiece. Erin Jackson also had 10 points for the hosts, who went 9-of-18 at the free throw line for 50 percent.
Shelby Brown and Jaden Neal were next with five points each, followed by Courtney Smith, Cierra Roberts and Beth Gillman with four markers apiece. Calry Gilmore and Maggie Campbell rounded out the scoring with respective efforts of three and two points.
PPHS, which managed only three made field goals in the game, was led by Michaela Cottrill, Peyton Campbell, Ashlie Flory and Allison Henderson with two points apiece. Skylar Woodall also had one point to round things out for the Lady Knights, who went 3-of-4 at the free throw line for 75 percent.
