One went well. One did not.

And the verdict is still out on the other.

It was a mixed bag of results for Mason County football teams Friday night during Week 4 action in the Mountain State.

Point Pleasant picked up its 23rd consecutive road victory while improving to 3-1 following a 35-14 decision at Herbert Hoover.

The Big Blacks – winners of three straight – built a 28-0 halftime lead and eventually held on for a 21-point triumph, the second straight for PPHS over the Huskies.

Point Pleasant ammassed 435 yards of total offense and also scored a defensive touchdown en route to the wire-to-wire victory.

Wahama dropped a 42-20 decision at Belpre, the ninth consecutive loss for the White Falcons overall.

The Golden Eagles led wire-to-wire in picking up their third straight win over WHS.

Wahama last started a regular season with an 0-4 mark back in 1999.

Hannan travels to Hundred on Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest with the Hornets in a Week 4 contest.

Due to an early deadline, the Mason County football openers from Week 4 will be available in full detail in the Tuesday sports edition of the Point Pleasant Register. Game stories will be available online at mydailyregister.com before appearing in print.
