Meigs golfers beat Lady Chieftains


POMEROY, Ohio — Consistency is ultimately the name of the game.

The Meigs girls golf team posted four of the top five scores while claiming a seven shot victory over visiting Logan on Tuesday night in a non-conference dual held at Meigs County Golf Course.

The Lady Marauders didn’t come away with medalist honors, but the hosts had a quartet of linksters fire rounds within two strokes of one another while producing a winning tally of 213. The Lady Chieftains completed the par 34 course with a final total of 220.

Shalynn Mitchell led MHS with an overall runner-up performance of 52, followed by Olivia Haggy was next with a 53. Kylee Robinson and Mikayla Radcliffe completed the winning tally with identical rounds of 54, while Lydia Edwards and Shelby Whaley had respective finishes of 57 and 59.

Lexis Fickel paced Logan with a medalist round of 8-over par 42, followed by Lauren Johnson with a 55 and Dreena Wiseman with a 60. Grace Johnson completed the LHS score with a 63.
