MERCERVILLE, Ohio — Back on track.
The South Gallia volleyball team defeated Wahama in consecutive games in a Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division match-up on Tuesday night in Gallia County.
The Lady Rebels (6-7, 2-6 TVC Hocking) — who beat Belpre on Monday night to pick up their first TVC Hocking win of the season — kept the Lady Falcons (2-6, 1-6) at bay throughout the entire match. The Red and Gold took all three games by counts of 25-19, 25-15, 25-18.
South Gallia was led by senior Kirstin Burnette with 13 service points, followed by Courtney Haner with 12 points. Mariah Hineman finished with eight points and Erin Evans had seven points. Taylor Burnette recorded three service points and Maddie Simpson had two points for the Lady Rebels.
Senior Jayla Wolford led with a team-high eight kills, followed by Hineman had seven kills. Taylor Burnette led with nine assists for her squad, followed by Evans with eight assists. Haner recorded six aces for the Red and Gold.
No stats for Wahama were available at press time.
South Gallia’s next game will be at Miller on Thursday at 6 p.m., while Wahama will host Belpre on Thursday at 6 p.m.
