GLOUSTER, Ohio — It was a rough night on the road for the Lady Rebels.
The South Gallia volleyball team were beaten in consecutive games by Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division host Trimble 3-0 on Tuesday in Athens County. The Lady Rebels (3-2, 0-2 TVC Hocking) had difficulty in the early going and were not able to overcome the Lady Tomcats (5-1, 2-0).
Trimble took the first two games by scores of 25-9. The Red and Gold were able to get some momentum going in Game 3, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Tomcats took the third game 25-17.
Kirsten Howell led South Gallia with seven service points, followed by Rachal Colburn, Aaliyah Howell and Taylor Burnette with three points each. Mariah Hineman, Courtney Haner, Erin Evans and Haley Johnson each recorded two points, while senior Kirstin Burnette and sophomore Hannah Shafer recorded a point each.
Senior Jayla Wolford led the team with four blocks, while Olivia Hornsby got a team-high four assists. Howell and Hornsby led the Lady Rebels with seven kills each, followed by Colburn with three. Howell and Allie Sweeney lead with with five aces each.
