Gardner pleads guilty to murder of father
POMEROY — James E. Gardner, 41, of Middleport entered a guilty plea in the November 2012 death of his father, James W. Gardner. The defendant also plead guilty to one count of aggravated robbery. Meigs County Common Pleas Judge I. Carson Crow sentenced Gardner to the mandatory sentence of 15 years to life. MASON COUNTY — Former Mason County Sheriff David L. Anthony has completed his jail sentence and been released. A spokesperson with the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden confirmed Anthony’s sentence expired on March 7 at which time he was released.
