The votes have been tallied and the winner of Heartland Publications’ Cutest Pet Contest, sponsored by Fruth Pharmacy, is Little Miss Lola (pictured) with a total of 661 votes. Lola’s owner is Kelly Roush of Middleport, Ohio. According to Roush, Lola is a Papillon, which is a rare breed named after the French word “Papillon” which means “Butterfly.” Roush continued in her description, saying when this breed of dog matures, their ears grow larger and grow longer hair and will resemble a butterfly. In addition to sponsoring the contest, it was reported that several Fruth employees also volunteer at local dog shelters and help out with an organization based out of Charleston, W.Va., known as “Dog Bless.” Fruth Pharmacy also recently donated Frontline and other pet supplies to the shelter. Also pictured are President of Fruth Pharmacy Lynne Fruth and Fruth Pharmacist Randi Robinson with one of the “Dog Bless” dogs.
