POMEROY — County officials who were elected during November’s General Election took the oath of office on Thursday afternoon in a ceremony held in the Meigs County Common Pleas Courtroom.
Meigs County Juvenile/Probate Judge Scott Powell gave the oath of office to 10 county officials.
Sworn in to their respective offices were common pleas judge Carson Crow, county court judge Steve Story, county commissioners Randy Smith and Michael Bartrum, engineer Eugene Triplett, prosecutor Colleen Williams, clerk of courts Diane Lynch, treasurer Peggy Yost, sheriff Keith Wood, and coroner Douglas Hunter.
Crow’s term begins on Jan. 1, as does Story’s new term. Smith will begin his term on Jan. 2, with Bartrum’s second term to begin on Jan. 3.
Williams, Triplett, Hunter, Wood, and Lynch all begin their terms on Jan. 7. Yost’s second term begins on Sept. 2.
Recorder Kay Hill will be sworn in at a later date. Her term begins on Jan. 7.
