James R. Priddy, 75, of Middleport, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at his residence. He was born on July 27, 1937, in Cheshire, Ohio, the son of the late Guy and Margaret Fife Priddy. He retired from Jaymar Coal in Cheshire, Ohio, and he attended the Hysell Run Community Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ward Priddy; sons, Dwayne, William “Bill”, and James Robert, Jr.; daughters, Penny Smith, Darlene Bartrum, and Faye Illgen; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale Jack and Tim; sisters, Jeanie, Margie and Brenda; his loyal companion “Sassy”; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tracy; his sisters, Charlotte and Wanda; and granddaughter, Amy.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport with the Rev Larry Lemley officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held for family and friends two hours prior to the funeral service.
