GALLIPOLIS — Deputies with the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating a break-in that occurred early Tuesday morning at a local business.
Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning has reported that one individual is in custody following the break-in at Baxter’s Harley Davidson located at 1900 Jackson Pike, Gallipolis.
According to Browning, a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken from the business, as well as $10,000 in leather and jewelry.
The motorcycle and cash were later recovered by deputies, but the jewelry and leather items remain missing.
Agents with the Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigation were contacted by law enforcement to help process the scene due to the size of the business. They were on scene throughout Tuesday morning.
Reportedly, the John Deere dealership located nearby was also broken into. No further information about possible missing items from this business has been released.
The name of the possible suspect or suspects have also not been released.
This case remains under investigation.
