Dear Editor,

As many of you know, Right to Life had a fund drive with the Baby Bottles for Mother’s Day with 51 churches and one organization participating. This involves over a thousand Bottles. Abortion is usually kept quiet. Just because women smile doesn’t mean there is joy and peace in their hearts. Many women carry the scars all their lives. We received a note in one of the Bottles this year that we believe the writer would like for us to pass on to you.

It said, “I’ve had an abortion before. It’s the worst experience I have ever had, and I have to wake up every day with the regret of that choice. I was basically forced to make the decision because I was in an abusive relationship, but I am still accountable for it. It it weren’t for God’s mercy, love and forgiveness, I would be going to hell. If you have ever made this same terrible choice — seek God. He will forgive you if you ask Him. He will know your heart. Ladies out there scared and alone — seek God, seek a church for help. Don’t make the terrible decision of having an abortion. You have to deal with it the rest of your life. God will forgive you — but you won’t forget!”

Abortion is forever. We would be up in arms if someone was ripping the arms and legs from unborn kittens or puppies, but for almost 40 years we have allowed this to be done to unborn children. It is time to shut down these abortion mills. It is time to reaffirm life is sacred and is to be protected, not destroyed. We can stop this horrible practice. Pray for our country and vote only for candidates that respect life.

In His service,

Connie Gibbs
