POMEROY — The Meigs County Commissioners held their final meeting of 2012 on Thursday afternoon.

Bids were awarded for work at the Rutland Civic Center. KAL Electric of Athens was awarded the contract for electrical work in the amount of $29,459, with D.V. Weber of Reedsville receiving the contract for the plumbing work in the amount of $6,619.

Mileage of roads maintained by the county was certified by the commissioners as presented by Meigs County Engineer Eugene Triplett. The county is responsible for maintaining 259.1 miles of public road.

The courthouse will be open on Monday, Dec. 31, but Commissioner Tim Ihle encouraged anyone who needed to do business in a particular office to call that office to make sure of their hours as each office can choose to close that day.

This was the final meeting for President of the Meigs County Commissioners Tom Anderson.

Anderson was presented with a cake and gift earlier this month to commemorate his four years of service as a commissioner.

Present at Thursday’s meeting were commissioners Anderson, Ihle, and Michael Bartrum, Triplett, clerk Gloria Kloes, Denise Alkire from the Meigs County Grants Office, and Del Pullins who gave the invocation.

The commissioners meet each Thursday at 1 p.m. on the third floor of the Meigs County Courthouse.

An organizational meeting will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14 in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
