OHIO VALLEY — The Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS, the state Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services and the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians is conducting the 16th annual EMS Star of Life Awards.
The Division of EMS is now accepting nominations in the following categories: EMS Stars, EMS Provider of the Year, EMS Agency of the Year, EMS Medical Director of the Year and the Frank Giampetro Distinguished EMS Educator Award.
“Each day in Ohio, EMS providers save lives and perform countless noteworthy acts of caring and service to their community,” said Ohio EMS Executive Director Mel House. “These awards recognize outstanding achievements and honor those in Ohio’s EMS system whose accomplishments rise above the day-to-day excellence of that system.”
Nomination packets including eligibility criteria and nomination instructions are available at www.ems.ohio.gov. The deadline for nomination submissions is March 18.
The ceremony will take place May 18 to coincide with National Emergency Medical Services Week,which is May 15-21.
