LANGSVILLE — The name of the man killed in a fire on Thursday evening has been released by law enforcement, as well as the cause of death.
Oscar Dale Wilson, 61, of Langsville died as a result of smoke inhalation, according to Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood.
Firefighters were alerted around 6 p.m. on Thursday evening to a fire at a camper trailer approximately 1 mile from State Route 124 on State Route 325. Arriving on scene, the camper was fully engulfed.
Wood stated the fire is not believed to be suspicious.Wood said that it appears the trailer was being heated with an electric heater which may have been the cause of the fire, although an official cause will be determined by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and remains under investigation.
Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department, Rutland Volunteer Fire Department, Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, Meigs EMS, Meigs County Coroner’s Office and Columbia Township VFD Squad were all on the scene Thursday evening.
