Flower show takes on Elvis theme

ROCKSPRINGS — Meigs County Gardeners showed off their talents in arranging and growing flowers on Monday.

The theme for that day’s flower show was “Elvis is Alive and Well in Meigs County.” Class themes were based on songs made popular by the King of Rock and Roll, and which continue to be considered classics.

In particular, the theme salutes Meigs County’s own Dwight Icenhower. Icenhower is a world-renowned Elvis Tribute Artist and is a graduate of Meigs High School.

Best In Show in the Senior group went to Shirley Hamm for her entry into the Blue Suede Shoes themed class. Reserve Best in Show was awarded to Melanie Stethem for her entry into the Love Me Tender class. Stethem also won the Creativity Award for her entry into the Viva Las Vegas class.

Cayden Stethem took home Best in Show in the Junior Group, while Hannah Crane was awarded Reserve Best in Show for that group.
