Morris, Finlaw top Poultry show


ROCKSPRINGS — Jesse Morris and Mattison Finlaw took top honors in the Meigs County Fair Marker Poultry Show held on Tuesday morning in the Ridenour Family Livestock Arena.

Morris’ poultry were named grand champion, with Finlaw’s market poultry named reserve champion. Rounding out the top five market poultry projects were Cooper Schagel, Kastle Hall and Lucas Finlaw.

Participants showing market poultry were Alexsia Wittekind (underweight), Hunter Smith, Joseph Butcher, Faith Butcher, Robert Butcher, Roseanna Butcher, Grace Butcher, Levi Williams, Abigial Legg, Breanna Vance, Emma Doczi, Israel Williams, Lydia Edwards, Raeann Schagel, Kastle Hall, Cooper Schagel, Lucas Finlaw, Hannah Erwin, Mattison Finlaw, Jesse Morris, Michael Letson, Dominique Butcher, Caden Goff (overweight) and Corey Seth (overweight).

Jesse Morris also took home grand champion in poultry showmanship, with Lucas Finlaw being named reserve champion poultry showman.

In the non-market poultry projects, Mattison Finlaw’s bantams were named grand champion, while Lucas Finlaw’s fancy poultry orlops were named reserve champion.

Kelsey Kimes was named grand champion for her pullet project, with Valerie Hamm’s pullet project was named reserve champion.

In bantams, Mattison Finlaw was named grand champion and Lucas Finlaw reserve champion.

Lucas Finlaw took grand champion in fancy poultry, with Kelsey Kimes being named reserve champion.

Jasina Will was named grand champion in large fowl with her pigeon project.
