CHESHIRE — Gallia-Meigs Community Action is advertising in the community to low income families for a new AT&T service offering low cost internet service for persons in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Ryan Smith was present at the community action agency in Cheshire this week, meeting with Tom Reed, director of the agency to receive a $5,500 check for the promotion and advertisement of AT&T Access. Community Action will be promoting the new service with these funds provided, although they cannot manage AT&T accounts or register new members. They do however, have applications.

Those interested in Access From AT&T, can get an application from Gallia-Meigs Community Action or by visiting att.com/access or by calling 1-855-220-5211 to learn more and apply. Costs for Access will be determined by location and speed available. Three tiers are available in the program. The only requirement to access this new program is one member of the household must be enrolled in the government SNAP program.

SNAP offers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, low-income individuals and families. SNAP is the largest program in the domestic hunger safety net.
