GALLIPOLIS — Everyone will technically be Irish on Saturday for the third annual St. Patrick’s Day Cultural Festival and Parade.

The lineup for the parade is at noon on Spruce Street with step off at 1 p.m., traveling on Second Avenue, ending at Court Street. The festival will take place at Gallipolis City Park.

Kelsey Kerr, who helps organize the parade and festival, said many organizations have already pre-registered to be in the parade and those who wish to participate can still do so.

“We value everyone’s participation,” Kerr said.

The entry fee is $15 and includes permission to set up in the park for the festival. The fee helps fund the insurance for the festival and other expenses, and it is also a fundraiser for the Gallia County Artisan Market, a non-profit/501(c)(3) entity.

The festival is from noon to 7 p.m. and will include live entertainment and music from 2 p.m to 7 p.m., three different inflatables that all ages can enjoy, food, artisan vendors, business vendors, face painting, festival t-shirts, a renaissance/steampunk/Shakespeare/cosplay fun section and more.

All businesses, all arts, and all cultures are welcome to be involved in the parade and festival, which continues to grow each year, Kerr said.

Kerr, who grew up in Florida, said she was used to St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and parades, and upon moving to Gallipolis, decided to start a similar tradition with help from mom Valerie Thomas. Kerr herself will bring Irish dancing to the parade which will include the Gallia County Convention and Visitors Bureau as the grand marshal.

Kerr said she hopes everyone will feel as though they can come out and “celebrate with us” on Saturday, rain or shine.

Parade, park and sponsor forms are available to pick up/drop off at The Artisan Shoppe, the Gallia County Chamber of Commerce and the Gallia County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
