REEDSVILLE — After appointing its newest board member, the Eastern Local Board of Education moved forward with the approval of numerous agenda items, including several supplemental contracts.
Supplemental contracts approved for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year, pending proper certification, were Jeremy Hill, junior varsity softball coach; Josh Fogle, head track coach; Joshua Mummey, assistant varsity baseball coach; Rebecca Otto, spring fitness center coordinator; Brian Bowen, head baseball coach; Deborah Kerwood, quiz bowl team advisor.
Pupil activity contracts were approved for Jacob Parker and Rocky Brunty as co-assistant varsity baseball coaches for the 2016-17 season, pending proper certification.
An internship was approved for Garret Hall from Rio Grande during the spring semester with Chad Griffith.
William Johnson was hired on a one year contract as the full-time evening elementary custodian for the 2016-17 school year pending proper certification.
Allen Flint, Tatjana Price and Garrett Riffle were approved as substitute teachers for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year pending proper certification. Tatjana Price was approved as a substitute aide for the 2016-17 school year pending proper certification.
A maternity leave request was approved for Macyn Baylor.
Open enrollment students were approved and/or denied as submitted.
Minutes of the Jan. 18, organizational and regular meetings and the minutes of the Jan. 24, and Feb. 7, special meetings of the Eastern Local Board of Education were approved.
Financial reports for the month of January were approved as submitted.
The board entered into executive session to discuss compensation of a public employee.
Following the executive session, the board approved proceeding to step four of the OAPSE grievance.
The District and School Emergency Operation Plan were approved as submitted.
An annual records commission meeting was set for 1 p.m., March 29 at the administrative offices.
The next board meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15 in the Eastern Library conference room.
