Two men were arrested early Friday morning at the Washington C.H. Walmart after heroin was allegedly found on one of them and drug abuse instruments were found on the other.

At around 3 a.m. Friday, Washington Police Department officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1397 Leesburg Ave., due to a complaint from a woman that two men in a silver Saab attempted to coax her to their vehicle in the Walmart parking lot. When officers arrived, the vehicle was located in the parking lot but no one was inside.

An officer went inside the store and found a man identified as Brandon D. Ralph, 31, of Chillicothe, at the front of the store in the magazine aisle, according to reports. As the officer addressed Ralph about the complaint, he saw another man, identified as Ryan Walker, 21, of Greenfield, walk from the rear of the store, cut through the check out lines and head toward the restrooms.

Walker came out of the restroom and he was stopped by the officer while another officer checked inside the restroom, reports said. The officer found a hypodermic needle in the trash. Walker denied that the item was his, police said.

During a check of his person, police reportedly found a plastic bag on Walker containing a light brown substance, which later tested positive for heroin. Its estimated weight was 3.3 grams, which made the possession of heroin charge against Walker a fourth-degree felony.

During a check of Ralph, a hypodermic needle and metal spoon were found in his pants pockets, according to reports. He was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were taken to the Fayette County Jail.
